Question for the community. Pure curiosity

Hi guys,

I'm just curious of something, I have been active in POE 2 since 0.1 and while I made a few posts that were clearly out of frustration for the game, I do acknowledge that even now I still am a newbie at the game.

I am in no shape good, but I did manage to get two characters to level 90/91 and two others to 75-78 , so I've played in four updates from start to endgame, while it took longer, I did manage to get there on my own.

But I also spend a lot of time on the Forum as I am curious of what other people say, thing, build guides etc etc

There is something that I kept seeing over and over again and that is the toxicity of some of the players/members of the POE 2 community.

I am just curios what makes others feel so good when they are being toxic and have a general bad attitude towards new players and unexperienced players ?!

Not to mention the in-game Global chat, it's atrocious.

I was talking the other day with a friend over a beer and I tried to convince him to come back to POE2 and he invoked the community and why he prefers to play some other games than to be involved in a game where everybody has the same 13-year old line 'git gut' or 'skill issue'


I am genuinely curious , why is this a thing in this game?
Has something happened in the past that split the community, or is this just the way it has always been?
I am fairly new here, hence my curiosity

I think it's worst than in random CS2 games :)))
