Starlit rite quest bugged

I activated the runes on the tree in the Grelwood and entered the lost catacombs when they opened but before I noticed the npc spawning. When I went back outside the npc wasn't there anymore and now I have nothing to do when I clear the catacombs because I don't have the quest. Don't see anyway of resummoning him and talking to him at camp doesn't work.
