Weapon Set Main Stat Assessment Bug
|
Hi guys, I've noticed a few people getting a supposed "bug" with how they're applying different passive node paths for Weapon Set 2, but it not warning they're breaking their Skill Gem requirements until they switch over to Set 2 in gameplay.
I can't say if this is a bug or intentional, just that the warning is unclear until they find out they can't use whatever the skill gem is that's complaining the main stat requirements are no longer met. I'll try to contextualise with the example the few people I've noticed had this problem. They're playing an Ice Shot Deadeye. Build is using Freezing Mark only on Set 2 and all other gems are associated with Set 1. The build guide they're using suggests locking their bow on Set 1 with Set 2 by right-clicking the tab above the weapon slot in the inventory, as well. Then, with the Weapon Set passive skill points, they path slightly differently for Set 1 and Set 2. Because they're usually using Set 1, that is what is currently equipped and currently being checked against when the main stat nodes are being selected for Set 1 passive nodes. And it works just fine for all the Skill Gems for Set 1. But when setting Set 2 passive nodes, there's no warning against Set 2 to say that the setup has insufficient main stat for the Freezing Mark gem. It works totally fine. You can set the Gem in the Skill Gem interface to only Set 2 just fine and the Weapon Set 2 passive nodes just fine. The moment they go to use the Mark and it auto-swaps to Set 2 to cast Freezing Mark, that's when the assessment seems to be kicking in and then the interface complains about insufficient main stat (although, the warning is more generic along the lines of "Can't equip or use skill with current setup"). In the Freezing Mark case, they're generally low on Int main-stat without the notification. Not the exact error flavour text. But it's not very obvious that this is the issue, especially as everything was "fine" with rearranging everything, until that very first Skill cast attempt swaps it. A few of the people who got this issue mentioned that it "worked" initially before they did a map run and then it suddenly stopped working. It looks like the assessment of the Weapon Set passives are only performed on the current equipped Weapon Set maybe? Last bumped on Jun 1, 2026, 7:55:43 AM
