How does controller work for PC?

I am contemplating buying controller to play poe2 on pc. but I don't know if it is worth it.

I am aware that managing inventory is bad, but is it possible to play with controller while mouse is also working, so could do some things with mouse, and some things with controller?

edit, and website for some frigging reaosn moved me to poe1 instead of poe 2

Controller is doable in game play out in the field. They did a fair job of assisting in targeting mobs.

However they have yet to implement seamless transition between mouse/keyboard play and controller.

You can only select one or the other via clumsily interacting with setup menus and choice whilst playing is not available.

This is on PC side of things.

On PS5 it is not a choice at all and controller only.

I primarily play on PS5 and was hoping for Pc experience to be better due to mouse option for menus and inventory management but that is not the case.

Not yet . Word is they claim to be 'working on it' .

So my advice if you are PC player. Don't bother just stick to mouse for this game anyway.
As an aside I have wireless xbox controller for PC too and it works fine for the game other than being useless for inventory etc.
