HATE sprint.

Such a bad, duct taped on addition to the game. Because its there i feel obligated to use it to speed through zones in campaign, but it gets me killed far more often than anything else. Exponentially more deaths to falling down than bosses or mobs. Fix it or get rid of it.

wheeeee ... *bonk*
Yeah. | |

Don't use it and get speed on boots. It's not a well-designed skill.

" Thats the problem, you can use Sprint together with movement on boots. It's such a bad implementation that Sprint isn't even a fixed value, it's just bonus speed to whatever speed you already got. So it would be stupid not to use it. |

Your problem is that you're sprinting into unexplored areas with monsters.
It's intended for quick backtracking through cleared areas. Last edited by MagosX#1099 on May 30, 2026, 4:21:24 PM

If Sprint is only intended for backtracking, then whats the actual fix for the lack of speed in this game?
Map layouts are still too big, there are no quicksilver flasks, movement speed nodes are scarce and barely give you 2% and boss slams have such insane AOE that your 2 inch dodge roll wont get you out alive in time unless you sprint. Because sprint exists the devs won't address the speed issue any longer so we are left with it as a clunky band aid. |

The fix for speed is that is the speed the game is intended to be played at. It's slow, it's built to be slow, it's not PoE1. This is a feature, not a bug.

The intended feature you're describing is making the campaign feel horrible to progress.
I never hated doing the PoE1 campaign because you move fast between the acts. PoE 2 campaign feels like a slog. |

I have never been knocked down or killed while running because I do not try to run past monsters, unless it is an Escape ascendency trial. It is not perfect, but it does solve backtracking speed. The game was worst without it.

" Then they need to make it less boring and more rewarding for the slow pace and long mini-boss fights and slow slog through certain areas. The great models and animations only carry the excitement so far, and then it falls flat. The level and map design is too boring, big, and same same tile set design all over. Combos are so specific that they may as well implement d3 sets at this point to go with the boring d3 inspired area and map design. Amenhotep Apothecaries Sisyphus
