Ice-Tipped Arrows Bugged

Currently playing Spirit Walker Huntress for Context


If you do not use Ice-Tipped Arrows before anything else it just doesn't work / Use its procs correctly. If I dodge roll and get Primal Bounty (Feather buff from new ascendancy) and then use Ice-Tipped, doesn't work. If i use barrage then ice-tipped, doesn't work.

For whatever reason Ice-Tipped HAS to be used first before ANYTHING else proccing in order for it to actually work correctly and use its charges/procs.

Maybe this is how it is supposed to work but seems pretty counterintuitive if that is the case, my understanding is you should be able to use it just before the projectile/bow attack and it'll work.

I'm going with the assumption this is bugged unless I hear otherwise, apologies if this is actually intended behavior.

After further testing / playing today it seems tied directly to the Primal owl feather buff. I dont believe the 2 point Ascendancy node was causing this issue when i was playing yesterday (It could be havent specifically tested it with just the 2 point) but seems to be with "The Mhacha's Gift" node.

If you have three feathers ready to be used when you proc Ice-Tipped the ability doesn't work. If i dodge roll and blow the buff ahead of time it seems to work fine.

This has been bugging me endlessly, after trying what you said that seems to be the issue. Thank you for your testing! Fingers crossed it's fixed soon.

I've since tried ice-tipped arrows further with only Primal Bounty, as well as not having the Owl skills at all, and still find the skill to not work all the time. Perhaps just my understanding of the skill not being correct but I will cast the skill just to find the charges not being used on Twister.

I am playing martial artist leveling with twister; ice tipped arrows was working normally yesterday iirc. I could use it with my other skills/buffs in any order and it would work. It does not seem to be working today regardless of when I cast it.

I did submit a bug report on this bug too.

i thought the problem is just the order of the skills but theres varience somehow.

After messing around with the build even longer, shooting a dud shot and then procing ice tipped arrows seems to work 90% of the time. I ended up respecing and then speccing back though with some different support gems, and it is seemingly working just fine now?

My friend on Monk had issues with devour bugging out charged staff. Perhaps an issue with a specific support gem on empower skills? Can't say for certain.
