Pikautes Mechanism Deleted My Spear

Pikautes Mechanism deleted my spear when trying to vaal orb it. Not sure if this is a "feature" and not a bug, but honestly, put me off from the entire game.

Way later in the game, I opened an Exalted Workbench in the Vaal ruins run and the spear was there in the slot.

The problem was the Pikautes Mechanism was no longer accessible, so it was probably still in there, but I couldn't get it out.
