PS5 and PC cross progression

I'm a bit confused how this cross progression is supposed to work. My situation is as follows:

- I Have an old PoE account with various MTX and tabs bought on PC.
- I Bought PoE2 on PS5 on release. Bought some stash tabs there etc.
- This causes me to have two accounts that are linked, I can switch between them when logged in here.
- I bought PoE2 on PC today. While it was downloading i started a character on PS5 thinking that I could continue playing it on PC but well aware that some stash tabs would be remove only and MTX not shared between platforms.
- When logging in on PC I now have two choices: either I can play the character but then I have no tabs/MTX from my original account (those bought on PC) or I can switch to the "PC" account but then there is no cross progression, i.e I will get my PC stash tabs but no characters.

I thought it was supposed to be cross progression for characters and you would have access to your MTX that was bought per platform but not just shared between platforms? Am I missing something?

Edit: also how is stuff like twitch drops supposed to work? I can only have my Twitch account connected to one of the accounts/sub accounts so all Twitch drops can not be shared.
