Aggravated bleeding - Roll priority question

Couldnt find a Poe2-Info regarding this only PoE1.

How is the check rolled in PoE2? Because the node "Internal Bleeding" aggravates bleeding when hit with an empowered attack. So if the empowered attack causes the bleeding, is it aggravated or does it only check already existing bleeding before the new bleeding?

The former seems intuitive the right thing, the latter makes all those nodes useless and traps...

I mean, the empowered attack is most likely the strongest you have, why would you have to use it to aggravate a lesser attacks bleeding instead of the strongest one? Not to mention you already lose 1-2 seconds of the bleeding before your next empowered attack actually aggravates the one you wanted.

Example: I use hammer of the gods with warcry and ancestral boosted. This is the bleed I want to aggravate. So you are telling me I have to use more EMPOWERED attacks to actually trigger those lousy 20% chance (Internal bleeding node)? If it even triggers the bleeding is already gone!

Imo this kind of mechanic is a newbie trap. They will get those nodes because they think the initial hit can proc it... but if it is like poe1, it will not.
If the forums were a mediaval court, it would be filled with jesters and doomsayers

I'm pretty sure it works just like in PoE1 (only checks already existing bleeding).

I agree that it would make more sense in the reverse case.

Yeah, it is. Hence why it already applies a heavy Bleed that you can make deal 100% more damage over the remaining duration. It's not supposed to be a freebie 100% more Bleed damage, that'd be absurd for ailment application. You can also empower other attacks, not just your strongest, to proc it. Aggravate is a pretty strong damage multiplier. No way they are gonna hand it out for free to slam builds.
