Martial Artist - bell skills' tags

Tempest Bell skill gem has a Melee Tag and I'm curious if Martial Artist bells would deal no-tag or the damage type by whichever triggers them. Specifically, am wondering if the bells would gain energy for cast on Melee hit energy gain (which are from smith of kitava ascendancy skill or Mjolner unique mace) that is if the bells are rang correctly
