why are quarter staves the only martial weapon with useless desecrations?

with the upcoming nuke to crafting, playing a monk build is going to feel extra punishing. plis ggg

i think you misspelled "buff to crafting"
I have never felt further from what I know and love
- find 130%+ phys damage rolled quarterstaff
- add gain x% damage as phys/elemental
- desecrate flat phys damage

you dont need special dwsecrations for quarterstaves

you can't desecrate flat phys onto a qstaff. if you had ever looked at the list of desecrations available on poe2db for qstaves you would realize that they have the worst outcomes out of any martial weapon

Every single normally appearing affix on items can be desecrated. I think there is confusion between us.

You say that "why desecration doesnt give any good desecration only modifiers on quarterstaves?"

And I say that "there is no need for desecration only affixes, since quarterstaves already have so many insane options for prefix/suffix"

Prefix
- % phys
- flat phys
- % phys + accuracy
- gain % damage (essence)
- flat elemental
- % increased elemental

Suffix
- % to critical chance
- % to critical bonus damage
- % attack speed
- skill levels

The special desecration only modifers would have to be insane for me to pick them over any of those above.
I believe this is a roleplay decision? A way to reflect the different mindsets of people that fights with staves instead of swords. A different approach, artistic, sidewinding, snowflake-y, different, odd, strange. This is Elden Ring level of itemization.
