Please Revert The Essence Crafting Change Or

or tease whatever new crafting system players can do at EARLY ENDGAME.
With the 0.5 release and rework of endgame, there is a lot of new contents. However its pointless if players cannot beat those contents. And equally pointless if whatever drops coming from those contents are useless. Which now seems to be the case for this league as the latest patch notes suggested the following change: "All crafted modifiers are now guaranteed, but items can only have 1 crafted modifier at a time. Desecrated modifiers no longer count as crafted modifiers, but items are limited to 1 Desecrated modifier." I understand that by introducing some very potent LATE ENDGAME crafting materials such as liquid emotions with jewels, now has a potential chance allowing players to craft jewels with more deterministic process which is violating the philosophy of "no hidout warriors". But, this also significantly affected gear crafting at EARLY ENDGAME especially for SSF players. The SSF of POE2 does not have any loot boost mechanism (only dropping items from a selected pool / increased rarity / etc) which is good as it encourages SSF players to learn item crafting. However, with the latest patch, this vital EARLY ENDGAME item crafting is nerf to oblivion and back to ground zero where SSF players are locked in the loop of "useless drops resulted in less farming speed and more useless drops". I understand that in the current patch, players can craft a very powerful martial weapon with 4 essence and a decent base with the follwing steps: 1.magic base with high phy% + whatever suffix; 2.Greater Essence of Abrasion +phy dmg upgrading item to rare; 3.Perfect Essence of Electricity replace the suffix with gain lighting prefix; 4.exalte to 2 suffixes; 5.add a desecret suffix; 6.Perfect Essence of Battle +attack level (which is the only gambling part and there is a 66% chance of success). This process would yield a weapon with 5 viable mods and may seem broken compared to other crafting process. However, I dont see the only nerfing method is "only one crafted mod". Apparently there are many ways of nerfing. Some alternatives might be: an item can take at most one perfect essence mod; lower the mod tiers of all essences; remove some essences (say perfect battle as it provides attack levels which is another op thing); etc. I hope GGG reconsider this change Last bumped on May 25, 2026, 11:08:35 PM

I love this weird idea of a world in which players are using multiple essences on their items before EndGame.
