Blood Mage Doesn’t Feel Fully Enabled by Its Ascendancy

One thing that feels awkward about Blood Mage right now is that the ascendancy’s intended fantasy seems heavily tied to eventually obtaining Blood Magic through either extreme passive tree pathing or a unique item.

As it currently stands, the opportunity cost of reaching the Blood Magic keystone is very high for the class that thematically wants it the most.

As a result, the archetype can feel gated behind gear progression rather than naturally enabled by the ascendancy itself.

I think Blood Mage would feel significantly more cohesive if Blood Magic were integrated directly into the Sanguimancy ascendancy node.

This would:

Make the ascendancy functional earlier.
Strengthen the identity of Blood Mage.
Reduce reliance on mandatory uniques.
Improve leveling and midgame progression.
Help the archetype feel complete without necessarily creating a major endgame power spike.

Right now, Blood Mage can feel like an ascendancy that only fully comes online after substantial investment. Integrating Blood Magic into Sanguimancy would make the class fantasy feel immediate and self-contained in a way that seems more natural for the archetype.

Even if this exact implementation is not the right solution, I do think Blood Mage would benefit from having its core mechanic enabled more directly through the ascendancy itself rather than being so heavily dependent on passive tree travel or late-game itemization.
