Channeling Monk with Plague Burst?

Does anyone know if channeling monk in the new ascendancy could work with something like plague burst and how would it work?

i'm guessing it either wont work because it's a herald skill, or it will work but doesn't build any charges so doesn't do anything?

would be cool if it did work and you could make a nuke build.
