The Nexus Link - Jewel for Passive Tree idea

Hi everyone, and hopefully Jonathan and Mark if you are reading this!I wanted to share a game mechanic concept for Path of Exile / PoE 2 that I think could open up incredible build diversity and allow for even crazier, off-meta combinations.
The idea revolves around a unique jewel (or a pair of jewels) that acts as a "teleportation" or bridge system on the Passive Skill Tree.
The Core Concept Once you path to and allocate a Jewel Socket on the tree, inserting this jewel allows you to immediately start allocating passive nodes from a completely different, unconnected Jewel Socket on the tree. The Problem it solves often, a build desperately needs specific node clusters or keystones from the opposite side of the tree, but traveling there costs too many passive points, making the concept unviable. This jewel would allow you to bypass the massive travel cost at a different expense. To keep this mechanic balanced and prevent it from being completely overpowered, it could feature certain design constraints:The Two-Socket Sacrifice: It could require allocating and using two separate sockets (an "input" and an "output" socket), forcing a heavy investment in your socket economy or some Heavy Stat Penalties: The jewel could carry substantial penalties, such as a flat percentage reduction to maximum Life/Mana, a heavy penalty to all Elemental Resistances, or a "less Global Damage" modifier.Extreme Rarity: Making it a chase unique drop from pinnacle endgame bosses.I would love to know what the community and the devs think about this. Do you think a "bridge" mechanic between jewel sockets is something that could ever fit into the philosophy of the passive tree, or would it break the structural identity of the classes too much? Thanks for reading
