What do we think of the game's original goals?
|
1: "Melee is good"
2: "Don't break the drops" 3: "Meaningful combat" 4: "Combo gameplay" 5: "Remove the bad" 6: "Slower pace" 7: "We don't design bosses to be oneshot" 8: "Cool new animations" (relates to visual clarity) 9: "Async trade" 9/9? Last bumped on May 23, 2026, 9:00:04 PM

Do you ask if we like the goals?
Or are they realised in the current state of the game? |

These stated goals are great, all together.
Are they being realized? Kinda. Melee feels good on Druid, the shapeshift forms have really good skills. Conversely, it feels awful on Monk until you get to Ogham Manor and get an actual, basic combo attack. Falling Thunder and Glacial Cascade really need to get swapped with Ice Strike and Tempest Flurry. |

About 2, trade and animations I guess.
"Sigh"

" I don't think ill ever consider that melee is in a great state until warrior feels good to play. I just think all the mace skills are just super lame. Especially compared to wolf druid and monk. I can settle with marauder and duelist too but ill probably be close to retirement age when they come to the game. Last edited by Lonnie455Rich#2087 on May 23, 2026, 7:24:00 PM

"original" goals:
update animation rigs 2 campaigns, shared endgame. Think we've gone far beyond the original goals. Please GGG, I need my sparkly crown MTX in PoE2.

I want to add 2 goals GGG said they have/had
10: You won't need a loot filter 11: Visibility in the sense of number of projectiles and attacks on screen So far, they clearly didn't reach their goal with these Another goal was to make the onboarding experience better and easier, sometimes i think they nailed it, but other times not so much Like the UI/UX for weapon sets for example, it's fine when you know about it but the way it's presented and the way you interact with it isn't something you deliver to the end consumer. At this point i'm fine with it but i hope new players get a better experience with it in 1.0 Still about the easier onboarding, you still need to alt tab from the game to know what an Ulaman modifier is, or what the number in those unique jewels are meant to do, stuff like that |
