Is POE2 just a compliance test tool used by the dev team against players?

After checking the new Monk ascendancy skills, I believe GGG is fully aware of the frustrating issues players have been facing, yet they intentionally only fix these problems exclusively for the new ascendancy.
For instance, gaining Frenzy Charges has always been extremely clunky. The new ascendancy can easily obtain charges via glove modifiers. Skills like Palm of Stagger and Palm of Lethality can also be triggered effortlessly through its inherent bell mechanics. This makes me realize many long-standing flaws have been deliberately left unresolved since patch 0.1: Unpleasant inventory management experience Poor mobility and awkward dodge rolling Drastic reduction of jewel sockets in patch 0.2, greatly limiting build flexibility GGG keeps rolling out massive new updates to showcase their development capability, diverting players' attention from old unresolved problems and getting players to accept the status quo. The team comes across as arrogant and self-centered. As a game development studio, this attitude is truly disappointing. Last bumped on May 23, 2026, 10:56:00 AM

Why wouldn't they? There is not much competition out there for them even after all these years. Even if you subtract the not insignificant amount of their player count that is rmt bots to feed the credit card warrior whales, your still left with a large active fan base.

" inventory management is what it is so you can "feel the weight" of your items it is a design choice. of all the arpgs I have ever played ( and I have played them all ) POE2 is the 2nd most mobility friendly, losing out to pre BUE Marvel Heroes. 0.1 was the absolute worst when it came to build flexibility, you either played Pillar of the Caged God stat stacker or. . .nothing else. GG had the choice of nerfing jewel affixes into utter uselessness OR reduce the available number of jewel slots, they went with option 2. it was a balance choice. this update is literally changing the most major longstanding unresolved issue. . .the boring endgame atlas. nothing about this, or any patch major patch, is just "status quo" you call them self centered and arrogant. . .and I cant reply to this. (I would say something here but it would probably get removed by support mods as to "antagonistic") Last edited by thawn4444#3507 on May 23, 2026, 10:13:29 AM

Been like this since the "good" old day s of POE 1. It's always used under the guise of "we've heard your feedback"; problem is the feedback is picked selectively. As an example, in POE 1 there were and are a few older skills that are absolutely bad. Sweep for example could only be used viably with insane investment; the type of investment that only no lifing the game could bring. Well, with the mirage update they decided to make the skill work by fixing it......It only took over a decade. This is how GGG works.
