It's time to remove the unique name limit on character creation

This isn't about your workaround to the unique name requirement, or creativity or lack thereof, this is nothing more than removing friction from the very early game experience for new players.

No other game requires unique character names, new players should be able to simply choose a name and go. Yes, you have a system, great, but removing the requirement will in now way b detrimental to your experience.

I am not after examples of your workaround, I know you have your system, but FORCING every player, new and old, to battle against an ever growing list of taken names is simply unnecessary.

I disagree that snagging a 'cool' unique name, or seeing one randomly in town every month or so should be more important than a new player's smooth experience with the game.

It's not even hard to implement, this is not some massive diversion of resources, and while I know you'll push back, i don't know why.

If the game launched without this requirement, not a one of you would have demanded a return to unique name requirments.

please note that I am not trying to be "antagonistic," "personally attack" you, or "derail" this thread.

I personally like having unique names, and I am against GGG changing this policy.

I mean Blizzard was able to remove this issue by having your battle.net ID tag your unique identifier. This alleviated the issue of having the need for unique in game names.
