Too few buffs for skills, right?

Hey Folks,
Am I the only one, or do others see it the same way I do? There are too many skills due to cooldowns, or it's too slow, etc. (Mercenary Rapid Shoot) to create a cool endgame build, and there are already several more for each class. I find that really unfortunate because not everyone necessarily wants a completely new unique skill to create an endgame build. I hope there are coming Buffs in the near future for underrating skills We have to survive 1 week to be able to play this fantastic GAME CU Last bumped on May 23, 2026, 6:31:33 AM

I think we need to see how the ward skills / supports / runic stuff plays out. For example in the last video where they showed the fireball that goes from like 3-4 basic fireballs into one that shoots nova style and bounces off walls...
So the fireball skill itself wasn't "buffed" but now it has option to be insane if you like how the base plays. It's often how GGG does some tweaks... As just doing a numbers change to Fireball really won't fix the problem, but fully gutting and redoing it can tick / piss a lot of people off who made builds aorund it that are now fully broken / non-functioning.... So They tend to lean in well what if we gave you a sweet "tool" to use if you want. Think about the alternative skill gems / Tarthus ones in POE1... Where it's got the base, but also has "variants" that act differently with different balance. We probably going to see a ton of off the wall crazy stuff. |

This is the problem with the game, almost all uncut gem skills are useless because of cooldowns, +1 second to attack, clunky combo interractions, very few viable builds you can start with.
The second problem is that the devs wasted a lot of new skills that are locked behind a ascendency with zero info until and even after lauch to see if they are viable. We can't know if boss companions are viable or if gemling gets viable builds from the qauality alone until we test that ascendancy. A lot of ascendancies has unique skills as ascendancy notables. If the skill isn't viable you just wasted 84 levels for nothing, have to delete the character and do the campaign all over again to test a new ascendancy. Why can't all skills come from uncut gems instead of being locked behind time-wasting ascendancies. |
