2-points Chronomancer has no real options

So imagine you are playing sorceress. You are level 20-ish and after a few tries you finish Sekhemas. You decide to become a Chronomancer. In 0.5.0 there are 6 options you can take:
- Phased Form: A skill that delays hit damage. Rather pointless for level 20-ish since enemies don't have that much burst to begin with. This skill is also going to be problematic to use without access to rift or much later in the game after you spec more ES, since the delayed dmg can still kill you unless you have some way to ameliorate it. - Sands of Time: You either get an AoE bonus or a Cast Speed bonus. Neither of which are really that important early game. - Apex of the moment: Slowing enemies in your presence sounds nice. One thing though: You will probably not really have much of a presence this early on. - Time Snap: Hilarious choice. Your skills won't have cooldowns at this point unless you used gems for it. And why would you be using CD gems this early? - Inevitable Agony: It's sort of a reverse version of Phased Form. It's a curse. But it's early in game so it won't affect much of an area. There are better ways to double this damage at this stage. I am thinking that picking Storm Weaver for the first ascendancy points and re-specing later on might be the viable way to play Chronomancer... Edit: All things considered. Phased Form might be a trap skill early game. You don't have passives to ameliorate the delayed damage. You don't have Temporal Rift. So you are going to be getting each hit applied twice. This will just delay your ES recharge. Last edited by vexorian#9572 on May 21, 2026, 8:03:37 PM Last bumped on May 21, 2026, 8:01:05 PM
