Is whirling assalut dead?

Melee Attacks can now only apply Splash Damage once per damaging area. Some Attacks create multiple damaging areas during use. For example, Whirling Assault creates multiple damaging areas around you as you move.

I am not quite sure how to understand that. How much worse will be clear now?
Is that skill have nuts cut out?
Can anyone make my thought clear?

It's saying whirling assault wont be as negatively effected by that change as it is an example of a skill that creates multiple damaging areas, so its still multiple instances of splash like it is now.

The nerf to whirling assuallt is the +quality changed from 'more' to 'increased' speed, which will mean less attack speed at the top end ranges.
Please GGG, I need my sparkly crown MTX in PoE2.

theres nothing saying WA is exempt, the description is merely giving an example. pretty sure this means an ancestral boost doubles WA damage instead of tripling it

the splash for WA was only 1.5m so clear shouldn't be affected, only boss damage

Tribal Fury = Extremely powerful when you have shit gear. Once you get lvl90+ and get a 100+ div weapon, the notable becomes almost useless, because you kill monsters without it instantly already.

If i understand this correctly it means that when you cast whirling assault, it hits each target like 7-9 times. Now only the FIRST time it hits causes splash damage, instead of all those 7-9 causing splash damage. This basicly means that for attacks that only hit once tribal fury is still really good, but for whirling asault it is not needed.

For example, if whirling assault hits each target 8 times per use (with Tribal Fury)
Patch 0.4 = 8 hits where all 8 does splash damage
Patch 0.5 = 8 hits where first hit does splash damage and rest 7 normal hit

this makes more sense and i think this is how its gonna work now
