Cold DoT Power Fantasy

I'm a huge fan of cold DoT builds in PoE 1. I would love to see some cold DoT skills come to PoE 2. Instead of attempting to describe how I think cold DoT could work in PoE 2 mechanically, I'm going to describe my cold DoT power fantasy.

There is a scene in the movie "The Day After Tomorrow" where the characters are running from a deadly cold snap in the New York Public Library -- [clip from youtube](https://youtu.be/OOIws_Kpwc4?t=388). We see frost slowly forming on the floor and walls, almost chasing the characters down the hall. The movie provides a cool visual for how I imagine an exile might wield cold's destructive power in Wraeclast.

The remaining denizens of The Molten Vault, busy with their endless toil, notice the entrance to the vault is disturbed. As they approach the entrance, ready to defend their cause, delicate looking frost begins to crawl across the floor and walls. A group of Gold-Melted Shamblers stumble into the frost. The first step is effortless. The second step holds their feet to the floor and takes meaningful strength to lift a foot away from the ground. They are still advancing towards the door, but the frost is advancing in as well. Frost starts to build all over their bodies. Their gold-bound flesh is completely frozen by the time the silhouette of the witch appears in the doorway. A Gold-Melted Sentinel smashes its way through the frozen Shamblers in its relentless march to eliminate the intruder. The witch stands still as the Sentinel's steps slow, encumbered by the ever increasing buildup of frost. The Sentinel finally comes to a complete stop inches from the witch. The witch raises her arm and snaps her fingers loudly. The Sentinel and its cohort of Shamblers shatter like glass into hundreds of irregular shards. As the next wave of enemies appear to support the fallen, the shards of the dead lift off the ground and fly like daggers towards the next wave of enemies.

I realize this description is probably what the Creeping Frost skill from PoE 1 was trying to capture. I really like Creeping Frost, and I'd love to see a PoE 2 re-imagining of this skill.
