[Content Suggestion/Idea] Wisps as an Atlas Map special Node Mechanic
|
Currently Wisps... exists.
Atlas Map Special Content... exists. And the bones there aren't terrible, but I think they still need a few rounds of iteration. I propose adding a simple Mechanic to Atlas Maps for Wisps that I hope feels interactive and Juicy. Just like how you encounter a Wisp on a Map, you follow it, fight a Rare, and then cleanup. Maybe it pops out and you can follow it again. Or it's the Hare and you get a go at it multiple times, each one juicier than the last. Well, what if there was Special Content on the Atlas Map where you see a Wisp on a Node. Then, you run the Node with a Waystone, and just like how you see Chilled Ground randomly spread throughout a map; you would see some of the Mobs would already be Wisp-infused, spread randomly throughout the Map, with the Boss always infused with the Wisp. Clearing the Map Boss without Dying once Releases the Wisp and the Wisp then goes to an adjacent Node and gets X% Juicier and each Mob/Boss in the next Map that is infused w/ the Wisp gains a Mod Line. This can go on like 5 or so times before it maxes out and ends. But if you ever die once to a Boss you lose the Wisp/Juice/Content. If you get the Hare Wisp, then each subsequent Map has a chance to have an additional Wisp. Any constructive feedback? I know it is too late for this to make 0.5, but I think the bones of the idea fit in nicely w/o having to be too OP. It also gets Players a chance to engage w/ Wisp Content w/o having to play Chase/Follow w/ the Wisp when trying to Map FAST and HARD. Don't get lost by being so focused on the target that you forget to enjoy your surroundings. Last bumped on May 20, 2026, 5:39:31 PM

I propose they either get rid of wisps or make them go to the NEAREST elite. I ignore wisps because 80% of the time, if I find one on the far east of the map, it wants to go to the far west of the map to some tiny corner where its special elite is hiding. If I find it in the north, it's going south, etc. It's an extremely boring mechanic that starts to really suck when you get enough damage that you can one-shot elites.
