Need help understanding a build guide

Hey all,

I am level 63 and still in Act 7, but I have decided to "cheat" a bit and start using the gems from the early map guide. The only ones I have used market to get so far are Tempest Shield and Determination. The problem I am having, is the build tells me to use Herald of Ash, Herald of Purity, Tempest Shield, and Determination. The thing is once both Heralds and Tempest Shield are up, I do not have enough % mana left to use Determination. I already have a mana reservation efficiency node taken on the passive tree, and don't see any more getting taken from the Early Maps passive tree build. From looking at the guide it doesn't explain how I am supposed to use all 4, or if I am supposed to swap based on something happening. Is anyone able to help me out here?

Also when Determination says myself and allies get 40% more armor, is that +40% of our total armor? Or does it just mean the strict armor amount the buff gives goes up by 40%?

PoB can help you out here--it's part of what it's for, after all.

Go to the Calcs tab, and select a skill with a reservation.
In the "Skill type-specific Stats" stat group is where you can find the "Mana Reserve Mod" stat. By mousing over it, you can see what's contributing to that stat.

The tree you linked has two small passives, one notable, and one mastery for Mana Reservation Efficiency. You're probably missing the mastery.

It's 1.4x to total armour.

Oh okay, thanks! I am on Linux, but PoB has a flatpak for it, so I got it set up. It looks like I have 1 of 4 mana reservation efficiency nodes I end up with. 12% right now, I end up with 40% total.
