High Respec Cost Is Discouraging New Players Like Me – Please Reconsider
|
Hi GGG, First of all, thank you so much for all the hard work you’ve put into Path of Exile 2. The game looks incredible, and I was really excited to play it. I’m a new player, currently running a Monk character. Right now, I’m stuck at the Chapter 4 boss in the campaign. My build is too squishy—I keep dying and can’t beat the boss. I realized I made a mistake with my Ascendancy choices, so I tried to respec. But to reset my talent points, the game is asking for 5,860 gold coins, which feels extremely expensive. As a beginner, I simply don’t have that much gold this early in the game. Farming currency is already tough while struggling with difficult bosses. Because the cost to respec is so high, I’m afraid to experiment or try different talent setups—I end up just copying other people’s builds exactly, even if they don’t suit my playstyle or gear. This is making the game feel really frustrating and unfun. I’m seriously considering quitting because I’m stuck, can’t afford to fix my build, and feel punished just for making a beginner mistake. Could you please consider lowering—or even removing—the gold cost for respeccing during the early game? Why not make it free, at least until endgame? Thank you for reading. I hope you’ll think about how this system affects new players like me. Sincerely, A struggling new player 中文 Last bumped on May 20, 2026, 11:24:26 AM

You need to upgrade your gear more. Changing an ascendancy node wont change much. You can easily finish the campaign unascended even.
Your equipment determines most of of your character power so try to get some upgrades and the boss will feel much easier. |

Go back to the islands and hop around clearing out each map, pick up everything. Change out your gear with what is an upgrade and sell the rest, you'll get the funds to do your respec and have better gear.
You can clear the acts with out your ascension but having it is still a big difference depending on your build. It's a game that requires grinding, it's a major part of the genre. Time to grind. |
