How to merge 2-3 PoB just into 1?

Hey guys, I wanna merge a few pobs into 1, when I can change tree / gems / items. I am looking for this option, but still can't find any valuable source on net or videos. I did it for tree, but on items and gems it's impossible - they always the same from one of pob. Any ideas? It would be appreciated ;)
