Item suggestion: quiver
|
I don't like quivers only work with bows...
My suggestion is to expand on the quiver archetype and make it usable with crossbows and spears (with crossbows it's bolt quiver, and with spears it's throwable spears bag). What do you guys think? Last bumped on May 19, 2026, 5:00:14 AM

That's requesting a lot of rebalancing for what purpose really? Just to take away the identity between bows and crossbows? Not sure it really fits the spear theme overall myself, or that it's that beneficial. But hey if they do it I won't complain either.

I'm partially in agreement. HOWEVER in a different way.
I believe that we should be able to equip a quiver whilst using Two-Handed weapons in general. AKA Staves. Cuz I mean... quivers give +projectile levels, projectile speed, and attribute stats. Then you can also get the penetrating quiver. Which will give you 100% pierce. IDEALLY I'd wish for the other quiver types would drop the "for attacks" part of the affixes. Cuz then more of them could work with Staves. This is kinda the same thing with Bucklers. Bucklers are a tiny shield. Or a wrist mounted shield. Well if it is mounted on the shield then... naturally you have both hands free. Why not allow Two-Handed weapons with bucklers? |

I mean sure, why not eradicate all ranged item identity, it's not like PoE has always been built on the hope of diversity and mechanical differences that bows and crossbows operating on remains faithful to, just throw them all in the bucket of ranged weapon. In fact, just throw away item classifications entirely. Why can't I use a Great Axe with a Bow, I can just shoot the great axes with the bows afterall. Why can't I use a quiver with my maces, I could logically just put more maces in the quiver, right?

I agree with OP with regards crossbows. A different but equivalent item to quivers such as bandoliers would make sense and fit the design. Crossbows and bows already have unique identity with the ammo system and reloading, adding an equivalent offhand item to quivers would not diminish that.
