GGG Please add controller + keyboard/mouse combined support before 0.5!

I just got a steam controller so I tried it out in PoE2 and apparently you cannot use the trackpads like a mouse in the inventory and menus like I was hoping you could. You can move the cursor around but clicking doesn't work even if you have it set up correctly in steam input. I think Jonathan said in an interview that you all were working on it? What happened to that?

Anyway, I would love this feature. GGG please!

Why did you think a Steam controller would work differently as a mouse than your mouse works as a mouse? o_O

This is the only game I can think of that has issues supporting kb+m and controllers like this. Controllers are great for the fighting part of the game, but absolutely awful for everything else. I've used the controller maybe twice because it's a pain in the ass to need to log out to switch back and forth.
They've been dragging their feet on adding hybrid mouse+controller support for like a decade now. There is no chance you're getting it for 0.5 if they haven't already announced it and it's doubtful we'll ever get it. It's such a niche audience for them since it only applies to PC users using a controller.

It's weird that Diablo 4 had this on launch but for some reason they just can't do it.
Not just Diablo. It's not a problem for tiny indie games. Lots of 1 developer games do it with no problem.

I get them wanting to make a different UI for consoles, but there's no reason to switch the entire PC UI just because someone is using a controller.

I dunno, why can D4, D2R, and Titanquest 2 all do it?
They need to fix basic mouse controls first before they even bother with hybrid inputs. We are over a year into Early Access, and playing natively with traditional mouse movement still feels completely broken because keyboard keys and mouse clicks actively override and cancel each other out.
Seamless switch between M+KB and Gamepad is on the bucket list since 0.1 release and they are very aware that people want that.

It was adressed multiple times, the last time Jonathan said that the issue is, that they didn't build all systems with that in mind from the beginning.
So unfortunately that lead to the Input Method beeing entangled into other systems deeper that they should have and it needs senior developer time to untangle that - time that is on low supply, as senior devs tend to have more urgent matters all the time.

That said I also hope they get to it at least before 1.0.
