Idea to alleviate "bad layout" map feedback
|
I see a lot of feedback around having to run bad map layouts to traverse and not having agency in the layouts that you choose.
I had an idea, where on the atlas tree you could have a multi-choice node with 2 options: 1. When you complete a map it doesn't complete the map and you can re-run it (maybe removing special event modifiers on it, so you can't abuse all rares are essences for example). Another option for this could be to let you re-run an already completed map. 2. The other option on the keystone could be something that is beneficial, maybe to help you traverse faster or some other bonus. This way you can choose layouts, but there is an opportunity cost. You also wouldn't find citadels or other things that you have to discover like breach biomes. It would however let you have more agency, as something that was particularly apparent in Mirage league in PoE1 was choosing map layouts that are good for the league mechanic you are farming feels very rewarding (such as Haunted Mansion, which is normally not seen as a good layout). Let me know your thoughts! (I'm also very excited for 0.5!) Last edited by TDAngel#1192 on May 14, 2026, 10:15:16 AM Last bumped on May 14, 2026, 3:54:44 PM

Or we just need a fkin ORB, click on a map, and rerolls it random. Still random, but atleast we can skip the mire, molten vault and +10 dogshit map. Still optional, downside is prepare time. But my fkin god pls jonathan, give us a good reason why we have to run dogshit decay for example?
