Dual Spec Talent tree and colorblindness
|
Hi,
I’d like the devs to consider improving the UI for talents whenever dual spec is involved. As someone affected by deuteranomaly (green deficiency — I often confuse red and green shades when the green isn’t at the ideal wavelength for my receptors), I only realized around mid-0.4, thanks to a friend, that the dual talent tree actually uses color coding to differentiate the paths. I can’t speak for every type of color blindness, but I believe that making the regular line white, while using strong red and blue colors for the two weapon-related talent paths, would solve the issue in my case. Likewise, I imagine Green/Red or Green/Blue combinations could help players with blue or red deficiencies as well. To illustrate how confusing it was. I’m playing on controller, and I actually had to log back in with mouse and keyboard just to quickly spam through the different talent trees and figure out which was which. It felt like quite an ordeal just to make sure I was placing a talent point in the correct tree. Perhaps adding some form of glowing highlight, clearer icons, or thicker talent tree lines could help as well. Also, if the dev team working on controller support could take another look at the talent tree UI, I find it quite tedious to properly assign points between weapon sets. Maybe it’s partly because I personally struggle to distinguish the sets visually, but overall it doesn’t feel very smooth compared to the mouse version. If the devs could consider this issue, I’m positive most, if not all, colorblind players (especially those on controller) would find the system far more enjoyable and accessible. I was honestly so lost that I completely ignored the system during the first few patches because I would spend half a day trying to figure out which point belonged where. Thanks for reading. I don't have any sort of color deficiency that I'm award of. Even so weapon set 1 and the regular passive points are hard to distinguish. PoB makes it quite clear with bright yellow, red, and green.

+1 always in favor of better accessibility options

" I'm red/green color blind, made this post for at least a decade now, and many times since PoE2s alt passives skill points. Don't hold ya breath waiting for them to make a change here friend! |

+1
I'm also someone unhindered by the colour red and its hues. A system of contrasting patterns/shapes could be more helpful. Like poe1's colour blind option for sockets. Something like, but better than, this: ![]() This would also identify what nodes are used as weapon-set points regardless of which set is currently active. Please GGG, I need my sparkly crown MTX in PoE2.

I struggle with color deficiency as well. It needs to be more vibrant to help me differentiate between the hues.
