what is the New Menagerie beast limit?

so i've been buying a bunch of beasts and thought that after i right click even after getting 1k beasts in my menagerie, it would auto cull one of the beasts to keep 1k limit
however, there is no popup message AND i got over 1k beasts. i thought "maybe right clicking beasts dont count against the limit" so i went in maps and captured a bunch of beasts, and i still have not received any info that some beasts got replaced nor have i lost any beasts i checked my menagerie limit and found out i have 1075 beasts. i could keep trying to see when i can reach this limit, but im afraid that there's some sort of scheduled cull system and when league migrates, my menagerie will cull back to 1k and i lose valuable beasts in the process any devs can help enlighten me?
