Tempest Bell, Shred and Building Combo

Unsure if a bug, a design decision or an oversight.

Tempest Bell requires a quarterstaff to be used. So equip a quarter staff and socket Tempest Bell.

Tempest Bell states: "Build combo by successfully striking enemies with other skills". Note this statement does not state striking enemies with a quarterstaff, just other skills.


Using Shred via a Talisman (a strike skill) does not build up combo even though from the wording it should build up combo. I tried socketing Practiced Combo in to shred but this also did not generate combo.


Does the wording of Tempest Bell need to change? Or should shred be generating combo?

Realised the combo tag states it can't be used across weapons. So this post can be ignored.

Seems like a shame though. Some great build options if combo could be transferred across weapons. Surely it is the character who builds combo in the flow of battle, not the inert weapon you are whacking things with.
