Atlas Suggestions
-Give a limited number of nodes at the start(300-500+)
-Instead of nodes going to a specific map they could give a random selection of maps(3-5) based on biome, with the exceptions for special biomes(breach, fortress, etc.), and special nodes(unique, tower, etc.)
-You could favorite/block certain map layouts after completing them at least once
-After unlocking the fortress, tower nodes start appearing at the edge of currently available nodes
-Tower nodes, not when completed but when activated, could act like the new logbook system revealing a new series of nodes(15-25)
-Towers could have a new item placed in a tablet like interface that can, upon reveal, influence the new nodes biome type(including special biomes), as well as whither the nodes are influenced by league content, such as the item having a modifier that says something like "#%-#% of revealed maps are influenced by X" with "X" denoting the league mechanic with unique versions of the item can result the revealed nodes to all be in a special biome

While I don't think this will fully fix the problems some people have with the infinite atlas, I do think it would provide both a sense of progress and a form of player agency
