Trials of Sekhemas Feedback. - glowing orb boon needs fix
|
There is a boon (glowing orb) which needed a rework since the beginning.
The reason I think that is because I never trigger it as intended. The way I use it is to equip lifecost-support and dmg self enough to trigger it on our own to trigger the boon. This seems like a bit of a hack. But you might also have this boon in a run but your honour will run out before it is triggered. I think this is meant to be a "second wind" type boon but it is not that in practice as is. Suggestions: Sekhemas needs a rework and don't use a honour system points plz... We already have enough systems bloat to learn. Use the built in health system. Just disable healing pots, lifesteal ect and have us run through like its a hardcore play and ACTUALLY dying, is what cause us to fail the run. the runs takes too much time with potentially no ingame progression if failed: Enable to start the trial from the point we have thus beaten. Lets say I already beat the first "part1" so now I can directly start on "part2" on my next run until I beat that. This will speed it up and allow for multiple attempts without being such a downer to waste a full hour and not get anything out of it. " You do understand that some people actually play hardcore, right? The honor system exists as a solution to your character permanently dying from failing a trial being a design that doesn't work very well in a game with a hardcore mode. I remember when Ascendancies were first released for PoE1 and the traps could kill you in one shot. You complain about losing an hour for nothing. Now consider losing a level 80 character you've managed to keep from dying to everything in the game because of a moment of desync or bad pathing in a trial. |

People who play hardcore already subscribe to the idea inside of a trials of sekhemas in a way. You have one attempt at beating everything without dying. I'm saying that this is sort of what the trial is emulating with a life/honour system that is based on your life/defence which is limited in restoring and you have to get through the whole gauntlet of stuff to reap the rewards. It's basically hardcore already. But you can reattempt them on softcore.
I think this is a big reason why people in general think they feel bad atm, Is the big time investment, if failed. I didn't gain any progression on my character. I just spent 1 hour or so. If I do some mapping and fail a map, it wont feel THAT bad as a 5-10min waste of time, as compared to spending 1hour+ trying to get my ascendency points and failing just getting bad luck. When failing a trial; I havent gained much in the form of exp or loot or anything in that time. I just gotta try again and it feels like a big waste of time then.
