POE 1 on Linux/ChachyOS
|
Hi, i moved from Win to ChachyOS. Is there a way to download/install POE 1 to Linux? i have all my microtransactions on the standalone version. Installing it on steam would not be possible, i would loose all my character and bought stashes etc?

I used Lutris to install, works fine, better than steam, but i also have a toaster of a PC.
Can you not log into steam with your normal poe account mail and password? should work imo. I did the exact opposite, went from steam to standalone client about 1 month ago. Also word of caution, there are some missing fonts and people in chat might crash your game. For that there is this "solution" https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3917834 Protontricks or just simply /dnd command in chat. |

If you don't want to use Lutris, just run the standalone installer with wine. When it asks you for the install location Z: is mapped to your home folder so you can just list Z:\<linux path with the / flipped>.
Then just add the executable as a non-Steam game to Steam and let Proton do its thing. |

I play on bottles. Alternatively you can add the poe installer as a nonsteam game and run it via proton. Also, you can install the game via heroic-games-launcher.
Get protonplus, if you need a specific proton version. I think cachy (and nobara) comes equipped with gaming stuff out of the box including the cachy proton. I would not recommend Lutris. It's aging technology, many people have too many problems with it. |
