GGG, you have time yet. But its shortening very fast.

This forum badly need some reputation system, seeing the same complains on the same topic from the very same people 10x a day is a bit annoying.

Constant complaining about how they didn't introduce swords after they said they will be reworking the end game content is getting old..

End game rework was needed, we got it, swords and axes are not that important for now.
I'm not saying they're not needed at all, just saying that for now we can hold off without em.

They might give em before 1.0 tho, you never know, it's GGG they could do their own "gotcha" moment and poof, lookie here we have all items (almost all)..

But if you hate playing Maces if you're playing a warrior, switch up your playstyle, do something else...

Go play as a Druid (or any other) a Werewolf and do Melee only, it's quite fun.
Play Monk (or any other) with a Staff or Unarmed...

Have fun with the game..
People complain about the topic and the fact that end game rework was not needed, that we needed items and skills more than that...
Sure, we'll all play maps for about a day then what? Only play campaign because end game is terrible? This update is good, just chill before the items come out and enjoy yourself.

Honestly, even if Swords are introduced, as you say that won't change anything, Melee is still sort of a mess..
There are other ways to play Melee, but people only want the "pointy thing", annoying
