strength should reduce the armour move speed penalty

Being slower in heavier armour makes sense thematically, but it feels bad in practice, especially when there isn't even much movement speed nearby in the tree to begin with.

I feel that it would improve the play experience, without losing out on that thematic note, if the armour movement speed penalty could be reduced depending on how much strength you have (a stronger character would be less burdened by their equipment, after all)

It shouldn't exist. Everyone needs to wear chest armor. It's funny they decided to penalize armor/life characters heavier than anyone else for it, since that's always been GGG's strong point in balancing.

Honestly they need to just up default move speed, remove this penalty, and return movement skills to PoE1 style. They've clearly given up any semblance of meaninful combat. If you can fight half a dozen bosses at once and their new goal for their "soulslike" bosses is that you'll see them do an attack before you casually obliterate them along with anything else on the screen they've already shat on the original stated vision of combat for this game and that was the reason behind the lack of fast movement for our characters.
