Linking accounts for cross progression

I am currently trying to link my Steam account to my Xbox path of exile 2 account.Ive signed into path of exile website with both my steam account and my xbox account, the xbox account is the one I use the most. And I would like to link my xbox account to my steam account so thst I can play path of exile 2 on my ROG Ally. I feel like I've taken all the necessary steps, maybe made a mistake when doing so. If I could please get a support technician to look at my account and tell me what im doing wrong I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

The email i use to log into the POE website is the same email linked to my xbox account which I use to play POE2. I purchased the most expensive version of the game when it came out in December of 2024 with thst email and have made numerous purchases on my xbox account while playing path of exile 2. My steam email is a different email. But even though its showing as linked I have never played POE2 on steam and it is prompting me to make a new character. Which I cant do because for some reason I cant enter a name when im in character creation. Please help.

Which email would you like me to use, my steam email or my xbox email? I feel like that's a question I should ask.
