Skipping this league because: No swords, same crappy atlas system.
Just giving feedback. I'm very happy to throw tons of money at GGG but I just want swords in my fantasy game, and the ability to repeat my same favorite map endlessly. Hardcore Last bumped on May 9, 2026, 9:50:56 PM

" Swords? Ah yes, the 'pointy end' technology. Very advanced. You have solved the melee combat, congratulations. PoE2 is not aiming for 'sharp stick go poke.' That is a little... how to say... basic, no? Swords are the white bread of fantasy weapons. Everyone have a sword. Even my tio have one in his garage, for the weeds. No swords is not a mistake. Is a design filter. And your whale status? Very impressive for your bank account, I am happy for you. But does not buy you a seat at the design table, amigo. Try a quarterstaff. Is like a sword, but for people who read the patch notes before posting. |

idk I like the fact that the game doesn't urge you to just run the same map hundred times in a row.
to me this Atlas system is already cooler than the one in poe1. Also with the new Atlas masters, if you have to cross let's say Myre, you can use the one that gives corrupted maps an extra mod and sends you to a random map instead. I know that's not the same but at least there's an option if you absolutely hate some layouts, to just effectively reroll them. |

" And then turn your beach back into Mire :)) Or, keep respeccing individually every time you get a bad map. Perfect, 10 more steps to do before you can play a map. Perhaps, an easier solution would be to fix all the bad layouts so people don't hate Mire. Or an even easier solution to let people play the maps they want. But no, lets have more friction. Let's add small stones in every small alley so you can never sprint or run without getting blocked by something you can barely see. Makes for a real fun and frictionful meaning-filled gameplay experience. |

I think its fine that not every game caters to that sort of mentality/playstyle of wanting to play the same map over and over again.
It was somewhat enjoyable in the current poe1 league but also felt like something intangible was lost so im glad that poe2 offers a different experience. Last edited by Argonlo#6237 on May 9, 2026, 9:51:41 PM
