Announcement - Disapointment
|
People, who gave you money waited for new classes, swords.
Why you guys don't listen to your community? And after a delay more than a month, we should go through whole same company, with a whole same classes. This is truly sad. The day you release new classes, servers will be down due to the number of people (which you are not be prepared for, of course), and then you will realize your mistake in updating policy. I mean end game is quite LITERALLY the reason people play these games.
The whole thing about chasing certain gear, certain rolls, getting strong, obliterating maps. All of these changes they made are massive QoL updates for the game. Are new classes and acts important? Yes, but not as important as the activities that you will get to play the class in or use the item in... There's a certain priority list with these games, and they nailed it with this update. They also did say they were gonna tweak and work on the game through the league, so you never know, we just might get a mid league update and get that class or item you want. By then you'll probably have whatever you need to be able to try and make that class or item work by crafting, trading etc... |

Absolutely wrong.
People play ARPGs for the sense of progression. From hitting zombies with a stick to being able to kill literal Demons. The slower and more difficult the progression the more rewarding the end goal feels. You want the dopamine without the grind. It's called Grinding Gear Games for pete's sake. POE1 brainrot and reddit has convinced you that people play solely for the endgame. This is simply a lie. Some of us enjoy the journey and don't treat the campaign as if it's a mad dash to the end game. Last edited by Yrto#6442 on May 8, 2026, 8:22:40 AM

" In a way it is my fault for not mentioning the whole progression from a single cell organism to a god in ARPG games... I mean progression can be what you make it at the end of the day, some people will take time with the campaign, go through every bit of the map fully discovering, killing everything they can etc, some people like me who already played the campaign multiple times will try our best to skip it, get to endgame where we can make actual good progress and become the Gods we want to be. Now, about the brainrot, well I haven't really visited Reddit ever to even know what goes on there (thankfully), and PoE1 I played for a few leagues which was kinda fun, took my time ofcourse, tried to understand everything and blasted once I could.. My point on the end game was mostly about the fact that you do go from 0 to hero (which I wish was harder, personally. (meaning you can't go from level 1-60 quick and from T1-16 maps within hours)).. But the end game is where you grind out most of your gear, currency and where you spend most of your time, unless you never try to minmax or just make your build as strong as you can and reach level 100.. I probably did miss a point or more of them here, but I'm sure you will tell me, and ofcourse I am happy for it, seeing things from other people's perspective and talking about it is always good :) |

nope.
endgame content is more important than stupid classes. |
|
" I paid for a game that promised engaging and deliberate combat. What I now expect in 0.5 is bloat with no substance and combat so cheap and visually cluttered it rivals that of PoE1. |
|
" I mean, at the end of the day it is an unfinished product, no one said that when the game comes out, when everything is said and done the combat won't be meaningful and engaging.. I mean hell CoD games and devs made promises but never delivered, so far even tho it's not always what we want GGG seems to deliver in some way, so you never know |

" All these timed mechanics, the ground effects, the newly added skills and supports with gigantic AoE's. Everything is fundamentally designed around kill as much as fast as possible. The only way to change direction would be a rollback to 0.3 and go from there with completely different design principles. |

Really excited personally. And I wasn't all that hyped for the "endgame" patch. They've done a huge amount of work. And given how much time players are meant to spend in endgame it makes sense to prioritise getting it into a state they want and can get feedback on in time for 1.0.
My only worry is that peoples concerns over endgame feeling like a totally different game still might hold true. Density getting insane and gameplay turning into a single button mash fest. Also the league mechanics still pushing to kill as fast as possible to keep the content going goes against the whole idea of slower, methodical combat. I really hope the atlas tree has some of those choice nodes that make significant impact on mob density and HP. So if we want less mobs cluttering the screen and the chance to actually make use of the combos, we can. I suppose those nodes will also need to affect the league timers too.
