Block & Parry Should Require More Skill with Greater Rewards

Both block & parry by your character should be accurately timed with the enemy's incoming attack to generate better benefits from block & parry.
Block has the option to hold the block well before & during the enemy's incoming attack, but the block benefits will be inferior to an accurately timed block. Parry must be accurately timed, or else the parry will completely fail. An accurately timed parry should create better benefits than an accurately timed block. IOW, parry is about higher risk with higher rewards, while block is about lower risk with lower rewards. An accurately timed block & parry should create various benefits: * Enhanced defense to invulnerability frames for at least a few seconds for your game character. * Enhanced offense for at least a few seconds for your game character * Enhanced movement &/or defense/offense speeds for at least a few seconds for your game character. * Healing &/or mana replenishment for your game character. * Slow, stun, knock back, &/or knock down effects for all nearby enemies &/or enemies in front (with spreading surface area). * Degraded defense for surrounding enemies &/or enemies in front. * Knock back enemy projectile in 1 direction or various directions. * Release various types of magic barriers &/or attacks with area of effect (AoE). The magic barriers could have the option to keep out enemy movements &/or attacks, while permitting your game character to move &/or attack through the magic barriers. For that we need to get atlas node like in poe - Monsters have 50% more hp - monsters deal 25% less HP.. to make combat-to-combat flow more impactful and more time spent on pack - with more rewarding monsters - With toughness increasing rarity of drop. Makaing game closer to what was promised. In current state waiting for block now - is like waiting for christmass party in january. And it's unplayable in party.

No, we don't need Atlas Node for better block & parry system.
Game is still in Early Access with upcoming patch 0.5. Game's full release has been delayed for many months now. We have plenty of time to wait for better block & parry system. My ideas to improve block & parry are totally playable in single player & multiplayer. My ideas already work for offensive actions in early access Path of Exile 2 & for FromSoftware's Soulsborne games. Thus my ideas should work for defensive actions. |
