Bloodmage needs some tuning

It's been yet another league of Bloodmage hegemony.
Can we have it tuned down or buffed the rest of the pack? It's boring at this point. 41% of level 100 on poe2ninja is a BM. I wonder why... Free Crit and Spell Leech (two of the most wanted stats in the game) might have something to do with it... Why not add a skill gem level on top of it? It has a lot to do with temple. You can get mega-XP running it efficiently and the best classes for doing that right now are ones that focus on crit and have a headhunter.
Who am I to say anything, I don't respect my time either.

IMO the biggest reason it is so strong is because mana costs for skills are so insanely high. 99% of the builds are running blood magic node or the blood mage ascendency for the crit but also the instant 100-1-100-1-100 hp roller coaster. On top of that the blood magic users can also create another defensive layer on top of the ES and use mana with MOM. |

I wouldn't want to give blood mage the axe, I would rather have other ascendency feel as impactful and powerful to take. Nerf CoC and other trigger gems and it's not so bad. Give other meaningful ways to scale damage besides crit would be nice also.

I'm guessing you weren't around when Necro topped PoENinja for like 3 years?
They should really block outside detection of player characters. A lot of it is herding mentality. Always has been. Some of it is league specialization and the rest is a mix of low skill / low effort. Necro peaked around Heist / Ritual. They even changed the whole vibe of Heist because pets were aggroing guards due to that being a large number of players at the time. They kept nerfing Necro but it didn't do much for a while because mass pets exploits a core flaw. They nerf based on usage so I wouldn't worry too much. Sabo has been mostly busted for a long time but no one plays it. Just this Mirage League they nerf'd Earth Shatter but not Earth Shatter of Fragility despite both having similar performance late game. Personally I think Infernalist is equally strong. It's just boring having to use the same Unique chest every league to make the Ascendancy function. You also have to note what's been changed or nerf'd. Chill status has been hit multiple times. Infusion system was added making Elemental spells very rigid, giving Stormweaver little advantage and we do too much damage for Crono/Vastra. It doesn't help defenses are designed to fail and More Damage never fails. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

As many people would drown from the flood of their own tears in the basements the play from, Crimson Power seriously needs to go, or be heavily nerfed, or be given to an ascendency that needs more help.
Unreal that BM exclusively gets maybe the most OP ascendency node in the game? Like...ES is already over powered but now you can get more life from your ES from a single item than pretty much any other source, and that life also = more crit chance and more damage from the interaction with the ubiquitous Rapthpith globe. Maybe make it you get 25-50% of the armor value of your chest piece as life...I dunno. Just not what it is now. I didn't group much this season, because the entire group game is so poorly designed and implemented and just downright not fun, but I tried it for the temple crystal farming. More than once I was the only non-blood mage in group. It didn't feel right and looked rather dumb with the 5 identical thumbnail portraits in the group UI box. |
