According to the game's mechanics, the “Storm of Festering Souls” can only hit you inside the arena; if you're outside the arena, you survive. As a penalty, you receive a debuff that reduces your movement speed if you're outside the arena. In the video, I receive this debuff at 0:10, the debuff refreshes at 0:12, and again after my death at 0:16 (I wasn’t moving). Technically, I was outside the arena the whole time since I received the debuff, but I still deserved to die according to GGG’s logic.

I've never just sat on the stairs like that. I agree it's visually unclear though. a GGG classic
