Game crashes after RAM Upgrade
|
Hey Guys,
I upgraded my PC last week from 16 to 32 GB RAM. Before that I had 0 Problem with Game Crashes. After upgrading my game keeps crashing no matter if im in hideout or if im in maps. I already ran every Ram test I could find, checked for corrupted game files and also reinstalled the game - it keeps happening. The Game crashes on DirectX12. Switching to Vulcan made it crash less, but still crash. No error message it just closes. My Hardware Stats are: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 12GB GIGABYTE AB350M-Gaming 3-CF AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT The Ram Sticks are 4x 8GB DDR4-3200 / PC4-25600 DDR4 SDRAM UDIMM Anyone has an idea what i could try or change? Your post is a bit unclear.
Did you replace your previous RAM or add additional sticks of memory to what you had already been using? It is typically advised that you avoid mixing different sets of RAM as they can have different latency values, and it is presumed that those being inconsistent hurts system stability. Oh sorry im not that knowledgable when it comes to the technical part. I added additional sticks. They are from different brands but what I was able to tell they have the same technical values "8GB DDR4-3200 / PC4-25600 DDR4 SDRAM UDIMM". I previously had 2 of them and now 4.
Thanks for your reply! :) |

Yeah, I would assume from that that the different sets of RAM have different latency values.
Mixing and matching RAM in that way is bad for system stability; if you remove the sticks you added, I would assume that the crashes will stop. It is definitely at least worth trying, as that way you know for sure whether or not we have identified the problem correctly. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.
