I'm surprised the price is so high, but I imagine that's from people buying them up to gamble on with coins?

The "failed" corrupt level 20 gems are like 25c each. Seems like a number of them with Excommunicate are available at that price, which doesn't seem too bad--for the extra mana cost, you can prevent enemies from dealing chaos damage.
Bro, you can buy infinite gems of them in trade.

Play SSF with a transfigurated gem and see the real beauty of a failed coin corruption
First you can farm one in lab in less than a hour. Even if you do not get exactly the gem you want you will get enough other ones you can sell and buy it.

Next there are ones that are almost free that are 20/20 with a bad level 1 support on it. If you look carefully there are ones that overlap the support gems you are using. The game treats this the same as if you use 2 support gems of the same type it uses the higher level one. So you can basically ignore it.
There are also level 1 supports that do not have a negative impact maybe increase the mana used bit.

But you are correct it is crazy how expensive they are. I suspect it is because not a lot of people can tolerate running lab. Since I like to run lab I have more currency than I have every had before in a league. Normally I only do it the first week or so this league I likely have spent more time farming lab since nothing else offers the return per hour.
That's wild, last league they were 1-10c all over the place
That was before the Mirage coins.

Just buy 2-3 offering of godess and take a cyclone gem with you. You'll be done in ten minutes. What is even going on? How about you actually start to play the game?...

Or if you can only do merc lab it might take 1-2 hours, big whoopdi. It's called progression, it feels more rewarding that way ;) YOu might even luck out on a gem that you can then sell for a similar price.
