Finding someone to play with is nigh impossible post league start
|
I’m sure there’s plenty of people that play the campaign mid-league, but it’s practically impossible to findthem and team up.
Diablo 2 had lobbies and named games people could join. What does PoE2 have? World chat (which is a shit experience on controller and generally full of random chat I don’t care for), and discord (where everyone only plays endgame if the league is more than 5 hours old) How can casuals find each other to play together for a few hours? Note that this is made even harder because it’s so annoying that quest based progression locks are so stringent… Last edited by TheBalrogslayer#7574 on May 6, 2026, 6:26:19 AM Last bumped on May 1, 2026, 12:49:05 PM

Join a guild

there are public parties that you can join. not sure how active it is now because i haven't played poe2 for a while but in poe1 there are always a few parties/groups going on at any given time where people play together for xp and loot. if you want something more than a random session with strangers then join a guild.

I haven't actually checked in awhile but don't trade leagues have public party functionality? Like a board in the town you can click that shows the non-filled public questing parties and lets you make your own?
Or has it been overtaken with trade by people using it to "advertise" that no one bothers with it anymore. Who am I to say anything, I don't respect my time either.

New-ish to the game and genre. Is multiplayer (partying, not necessarily global options like trade) generally the preferred way for most to enjoy this game?
Asking because it seems that the game doesn't seem to heavily encourage partying, which could just be a trait of the genre. |

" nope. there are generally two groups that party up: - friends chilling. - "entrepreneurs" abusing a mechanic that should be removed from the game. cant put a real number on it but my guess would be that easily 80% of POE is played solo. youll see the odd time where people end up knowing each other from chat and run gold maps together or something but thats not common. it would be neat if we had content that basically required a party of 3 or 4 to beat but idk how that would fit. D4 world bosses were a neat idea but implemented horribly. a warframe archon hunt style event could be cool. like a timed event that auto matches people to fight a giant boss with a MASSIVE health pool and some mechanics, should take a good 5-15 minutes for pretty damn strong characters to down it. id play the hell out of that. :) Last edited by JODYHiGHR0LLER#6171 on Apr 29, 2026, 9:25:04 AM

" The players are party-ing up, it's not kind of issue that.. In Poe1 it's a biiig issue but in poe2 it's kind of ok. It will be so nice to have group activities though, bosses, challenges that requires a party to complete, some endgame content. etc Poe2 0.4 character: - ButurugaGroasa

I assume you play SC...there's trillions of public parties even months after leaguestart
Judging by HC - there's a dozen or more parties at start and still some after a week or two If you're giga casual and play from PS5 with a controller - find a community\friends i guess, if public party is not your thing |

I can't even imagine wanting to play PoE (1 or 2) with someone I don't know. It's sorta a shitshow -with- people I know just because of the pacing of the game and the need for visual clarity.
