Can't enter game instance

I can't enter the game but get into character selection and after I click PLAY then it starts loading and crashes with the message: Failed to connect to instance. Steps 1. Enter your login information 2. Click Login 3. On character selection choose your character 4. click Play 5. Error: Failed to connect to instance


I have tried on Steam version too but it does the same so no luck.

Is this in PoE or PoE2?
In PoE2, if there's a problem with the instance you're in, there's an option to login to Town instead of to where you logged off.

What MTX do you have on the character? There have occasionally been problems with MTX--if you can use another character to unequip the MTX on the affected character, you might be able to log in again.

PoE 1. I have tried different characters with and without MTX. I don't see the option, some characters are on Highgate, Harui Shores and Oriath docks, they all fail to enter the instance.
