Suggestion: Independent Armor Swap System (Separate from Weapon Swap)
|
Hi GGG team,
I’d like to suggest an Independent Armor Swap system for Path of Exile 2. Currently, we can swap weapons, but if we want to change armor for specific situations (like switching from a "Speed/Mapping" chest to a "Defensive/Bossing" setup), we have to do it manually in the inventory. The Suggestion: Add a secondary armor tab (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves, Boots) that can be swapped via a hotkey, independently of which weapon set we are currently using. Why this matters: It would allow players to have a "Mapping Loadout" and a "Bossing Loadout" for their armor without the clunkiness of manual inventory management. This adds more strategic depth to how we prepare for encounters without forcing a weapon change. Thanks for the hard work on the game! " While I generally want to see more QoL improvements, I have to give this idea a very hard no. Please don't allow this. This game is easy enough and enabling fast swapping of multiple gear sets situationally basically invalidates the need for any consideration or planning for a well-balanced build, and would just add further unneeded complexity and micromanagement, and it would hurt build diversity in general. Sure, maybe put in the ability to do some loadouts that you can only change in town or in your hideout so swapping gear isn't as tedious, but once you start a map or temple, or whatever, you shouldn't be able to change your gear and skill and support gems etc. I'm aware the current game lets you do this, and you can always port back to town to do it (or use your limited inventory to carry the junk needed to do so with you), but I'd argue it shouldn't. It's bad game design that it's even allowed. |

Nope.
-1 Unnecessary complication that solves issue doesn't exist. Also amount of abuse opportunity and balancing complication it would bring is massive. It would be a "QoL" which would work against the systems design. |
