No Valdo Map Reward

I completed a Valdo's Puzzle Box map and did not get the reward. This is a Crimson Temple map. I checked and cleared all the monsters in the map. The completion target was "All abysses in area must be completed to claim reward."

Upon further inspection of the map, it appears the abyss did not continue to the end, despite following it all the way?? I also do not remember looting a trove.
