Deadlock detected when gemcutting

I get the bug "deadlock detected" every time I go to cut a new gem. The game stops responding so I have to close it. Game is literally unplayable now. I tried all the fixes on google short of deleting the game files and reinstalling. I'm in the process of doing that now but it's a 3 hour download
